With a lifelong passion for exploration, Janie Bullard has been a trailblazer in the leisure travel industry since her journey began in 1983. In June 2000, she launched Distinctive Journeys, a boutique travel agency that quickly earned its place within the prestigious Virtuoso consortium of elite travel advisers. Janie's extraordinary talents earned her a decade-long reign (2003-2013) on Travel + Leisure Magazine's esteemed list of Top Travel Advisers in the USA.
Africa holds a special place in Janie's heart, as she's ventured there 25 times, exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Rwanda, Victoria Falls, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, and various South African camps. From helping you choose amazing riverside lodges to the perfect time to plan a trek to see the Mountain Gorillas, Janie is a true EXPERT in planning African travel for her clients!
A strong supporter of interstellar experiences, Janie was among the original Accredited Space Agents, joining forces with Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Galactic to usher in a new era of commercial space travel. Her own terrestrial adventures have led her to over 100 countries across six continents, with a rendezvous in Antarctica on the horizon.
Janie's far-reaching travels also encompass visits to the vibrant cultures of New Zealand, Australia, Japan, India, South America, the Galapagos Islands, and Patagonia. A seasoned voyager, Janie has embarked on more than 35 sailings across the world's oceans and rivers, navigating the enchanting waters from Europe to Asia and Alaska.
Beyond her personal expeditions, Janie has skillfully coordinated pre/post trips for members of the International College of Dentists, accompanying them to global meetings in the most exotic locations. An ardent nature photographer, Janie has captured the beauty of the world through her lens, collaborating with legendary photographers such as David Muench, Jack Dykinga, Thomas D. Mangelsen, and Jim Brandenburg.
At the heart of Janie's work is her fervor for designing one-of-a-kind journeys. Her goal is to weave her expertise and connections into tailor-made adventures for couples and families, crafting memories and dreams that will be cherished for a lifetime!
